OBITUARY: Patrick E. LaSala, 91

WILMINGTON, MA — Patrick E. LaSala, of Wilmington, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the age of 91.

Born on January 7, 1933, in Boston, Patrick was the beloved son of the late Pasquale and Elvira (Petrozzelli) LaSala. He was a warm, loyal, kind, and gentle man who touched the lives of everyone he met. Known for his quick wit, boundless generosity, and deep caring, Patrick leaves behind cherished memories and a lasting impact. He was affectionately known by many names, including “Pat,” “Junior,” “Dean,” but most fondly as “Dad,” “Grandpa,” “Bee,” and “Bah.”

Patrick proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War and, shortly thereafter, married his sweetheart, Flo. Together, they spent 49 years raising their three children and welcoming four grandchildren. In their later years, they enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Patrick worked tirelessly throughout his life, starting as a factory worker and eventually becoming a factory foreman. Later, he found great satisfaction in his role as a salesman at Bernie and Phyl’s Furniture. He retired at the age of 80 and took pleasure in spending time with his family and friends. A devoted sports fan and avid viewer of Judge Judy, he spent his final years mastering Amazon online shopping, DraftKings, DK Horses and savoring delicious food. He proudly watched as his family grew to include six great-grandchildren.

Patrick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Patrick was the beloved husband of the late Florence (Serino) LaSala. He was a devoted father to Debbie Gigante and her husband Anthony, Robert LaSala and his wife Robin, and Joe LaSala and his wife Maria. He was a cherished grandfather to Kristen DiGiovanni and her husband Frank, Anthony Gigante and his wife Casey, Nicole Corsi and her husband Dean, and Michelle LaSala. Patrick was also a doting great-grandfather to Isabella, Ava, Jack, Abigail, Rylie, and Juliet.

Funeral from the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Avenue WILMINGTON on Tuesday July 30th at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Patrick’s Eternal Life in Saint Dorothy’s Church, 11 Harnden Street Wilmington at 10:30am. Family and friends were cordially invited to gather and share memories with Patrick’s Family on Monday, July 29th from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
