- The Wilmington Police Association is holding its annual Police Beach Day on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 11am to 2pm, at Town Beach. Wilmington’s finest will be serving up free hamburgers and hot dogs to residents. The Wilmington Health Department, in conjunction with We’re One Wilmington, will simultaneously be holding Sun Safety Day activities.
- DEADLINE: Today is the final day to submit comments to the EPA regarding the proposed Prospective Purchaser Agreement (PPA) at the Olin Chemical Superfund Site at 51 Eames Street. Learn more HERE.
- The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding the following activities: Hiking Group (9am); Gentle Yoga (9am); Art (9:45am); Crocheting & Knitting (10:30am); Country Line Dancing (10:30am); Ceramics (1:30pm); and Functionally Fit (2pm). Learn more HERE.
- The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding the following activities: Outdoor Baby Time (10am) and Tie Dye Fun (3pm).
- TEXTILES WANTED: The Wilmington Educational Foundation has partnered with Baystate Textiles to raise funds through an ongoing textile recycling rebate program. Bag up any of your unwanted footwear, clothing, accessories, linens and stuffed animals and place them in the donation boxes located outside each of Wilmington’s public schools. Donations can be in any condition as long as they’re clean and dry. The Wilmington Educational Foundation will receive a rebate of $100 for every ton of textiles collected. WEF earns thousands of dollars each year from this fundraiser.
