OBITUARY: Cathy M. (Heelan) O’Leary, 84

WILMINGTON, MA — Catherine M. “Cathy” (Heelan) O’Leary of Wilmington, originally from Cloyne, Cork, Ireland, died July 9, 2024. Loving mother of Eileen Dolan of NH, Maureen Terenzi, of MA, Nancy Stempin of NJ, Karen O’Leary of MA and Kevin O’Leary of GA. Cherished Nana to Cathy, Kim, Frank, Brendan, Alex, Catherine, Kevin, and Tommy. Sister of Alice Barry, Declan Heelan is the only (deceased) both of Ireland and Mary Sheehan of England. Cathy is also survived by 1 great grandchild Caleb.

Cathy enjoyed raising her family in Wilmington. She was proud of her Irish heritage, she loved her sports and always looked forward to hosting large family gathering for the holidays. She was the rock she was incredibly bright and encouraged education amongst all of the family. Cathy was a warm and caring person, who would do anything for the people she loved. For Cathy, her faith and her family were the foundation of all that was truly important to her. Her warmth and her love will be the legacy she leaves behind. Cathy was a Boston College graduate and worked at Analog Devices in town for many years. She was an amazing mother. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Friday, July 12th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. All will gather at the Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington, MA, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
