Adult Programs

Learn to Cross Stitch
Monday, July 15, 6pm
New to needlework? Head of Circulation Lisa Crispin will teach you the basics in this two-session workshop. Materials provided.

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, July 15, 6pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! This group meets every Monday night in the cozy seating area on the first floor of the Library.

Needleworkers

VIRTUAL Poetry Circle

Do you enjoy writing poetry? Want input on your work? If so, this group is for you. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras. If you are interested in attending this event, please email Adult Services Librarian Erin Driscoll at adultservices@wilmlibrary.org. Please include the title of the program in the subject heading. This event will be held over Zoom. You will receive an invite from the presenter prior to the program date.

Wilmington Community Playgroup

The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Join CTI for a community playgroup where we’ll work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. The first playgroup of every month will focus on infants and toddlers. Ages 0-6, siblings welcome

Outdoor Preschool Storytime

Acrobat Li Liu

Li Liu will perform hand balancing, plate spinning, ribbon dancing, and more along with teaching attendees about the Chinese language and culture! All ages

Music with Dara: Boats, Trains, Planes with Wings

Pals and Popsicles

Attend our July book group while enjoying popsicles with friends! Calling all summer bookworms! Attend our book group while enjoying popsicles with friends! Book choice TBD. This book group will meet on Wednesdays between July 3 and July 24 (four sessions). Please sign up for each session individually. Ages 8-12

Family Movie Night: Wall-E

Teen Green Cookin’ the Books
Thursday, July 18, 1pm
Join us for the teen version of the popular adult program! Pick up a copy of the cookbook & choose a recipe (or find a recipe from the book online), then bring your dish to the meeting and enjoy sampling everyone’s dishes! There are two options for this program: The Green Teen Cookbook by Laurane Marchive and Pam McElroy or One Pot, Pan, Planet by Anna Jones. Grades 6-12

Manga Tryouts

Have a say in manga purchased for the teen collection with this new club! During each meeting, we’ll sample 1st volumes of different manga, and vote on whether it should be added to WML’s collection. Grades 6-12

Read to Stormy
Thursday, July 18, 4pm
Practice your reading skills with Therapy Dog, Stormy! Sign up for a 15 minute session! Grades K-6

Drop-in Storytime

Plant Swap

Bring a cutting or two (or a dozen) or a rooted plant, and pick up a new one! Teens and adults

Teen DnD
Saturday, July 20, 3pm
Interested in finding out more about this fantasy tabletop role-playing game, or looking for a group to play with? This month’s session will be IN PERSON at the library. You may also participate on Discord, a private server. We use DnDBeyond to track and create our characters. Grades 6-12

Book Store Next Door
The Book Store Next Door is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.

FixIt Clinic

Wilmington Memorial Library is seeking volunteer coaches for our first ever Fixit Clinic on Saturday, August 3rd from 1pm to 4pm! Fixit Clinics are events where neighbors come together and help each other fix broken items, from appliances to electronics to clothing and more. Fill out the survey online!
