NEW STEW: Latest Episode Of WCTV’s ‘Book Stew’ Features Author Jean Trounstine

Below is an announcement from Wilmington Community Television’s “Book Stew:”

WILMINGTON, MA — In the July episode of Book Stew, I welcome back returning guest Jean Trounstine, author of Shakespeare Behind Bars, Boy With A Knife, and now Motherlove, a collection of short stories representing the many mothers she has encountered as a long-time advocate of restorative justice. The book is a series of portraits of the imagined lives of mothers of boys and men who are serving long prison sentences for their violent acts. Jean says, about their relationships to their sons, “Love doesn’t necessarily mean acceptance or approval.”

The stories are informed by the 50+ MA Parole Board hearings Jean has attended as a correspondent for the Boston Institute for Non-Profit Journalism, and Motherlove is available for free upon request from the amazing publisher Concord Free Press of Concord, MA.

Eileen MacDougall is the host/producer of 125+ episodes of Book Stew, a web series and podcast originating in 2013, featuring every variety of authors, illustrators, poets, and playwrights, plus a cat that survived a tornado and lived to write about it!
