Malden Catholic Announces Ian Snyder As Its New 7th & 8th Grade Division Leader

MALDEN, MA — Malden Catholic recently announced Ian Snyder as Malden Catholic’s first 7th & 8th Grade Division Leader. Mr. Snyder brings a wealth of experience to the role and we are excited to for him to begin to build the foundation that transitions middle school students into MC’s college-preparatory high school programs.

Principal Jeffrey Smith stated that, “Ian’s management approach draws from a diverse set of experiences, encompassing faculty development, student services, curriculum development, operations and facility management, and institutional advancement. We believe that these experiences and Ian’s educational background have equipped him with skills necessary to guide and lead our newly created 7th and 8th Grade Division.”

Mr. Snyder comes to Malden Catholic from leadership roles as the Head of School for Saint Joesph School in Needham serving over 450 students Preschool through 8th grade and Saint Patrick Academy in Portsmouth, NH in a variety of roles including Dean of Students and School Operations as well as Director of Student Activities.

“From the start of my inquiry it was clear that Malden Catholic is a growing and innovative force in Catholic education in the Boston area and I am eager to be a part of this exciting next chapter. As the Division Leader of the new 7th/8th grade, I am looking forward to working with students and welcoming them into the Malden Catholic community. I hope to serve as a bridge for our families as they navigate the transition to high school.”

With a Master of Education in Leadership and Policy from Boston College, Master of Arts in School Counseling from Assumption College and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a Minor in English from Saint Anselm College, Mr. Snyder brings an exceptional background to our community.

Malden Catholic vetted an extensive pool of quality candidates with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Mr. Snyder emerged as our top choice as highly qualified Catholic educator and leader. He will work closely with school administration and admissions to develop a comprehensive 7th and 8th grade curriculum that will align with our 9-12 grades. He will begin work on programming in athletics, admissions, and the arts on August 1 and lead us towards the opening of the new Division, set for Fall 2025.
