OBITUARY: Rose Marie (Polvere) Chase, 80

WILMINGTON, MA — Rose Marie Chase (Polvere), age 80, a life-long resident of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2024, with her loving family at her side.

Rose was born in Dorchester, MA, on December 27, 1943; she was the cherished only child of the late James and Rose Marie (Peroni) Polvere. Rose was raised and educated in Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1961 where she made many life-long friends.

Rose married “the love of her life” Leonard J. Chase on June 15, 1963; the couple bought their “forever home” in Wilmington and were surrounded by great neighbors who they considered family. Rose and Lenny spent many wonderful years togethers before his sudden passing in December of 2016.

Rose will be fondly remembered for many things but most importantly was her unconditional love and devotion to her family, friends, and her “kitties”; they were her world! Rose had an endearing personality and people were drawn to her, she was extremely generous, and would do anything for anyone. Rose was very social; she made everyone in her presence feel welcomed and loved. She also had a great sense of humor; she loved to make people laugh and was known to pull a prank or two just for fun.

Rose was an avid fan and a true lover of all sports; she held her own with anyone when it came to statistics or a conversation about the latest teams, drafts, or controversary going on throughout the sports world. Rose especially loved professional football and Boomer Esiason was “her guy”.

Rose was a special lady to so many people; she was beautiful inside and out and had a heart of gold. She is survived by many loving cousins, some of whom she was raised with; George (Linda) Szadis, ME; James Szadis, IA; Betty (Dan) Alley, NH; Sandy (Ralph) Russo, NH; Rose (Chuck) Sturtevant, MA, predeceased by Tom Szadis, NH and Christine Anderson, MA, as well as her many special nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved cat Spooky; she will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Friday, June 14th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 10:00 a.m. in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA. (please use 2nd entrance off of Wildwood Street).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
