5 Things To Do In Wilmington On Friday, June 14, 2024: Veterans Department To Hold Flag Retirement Ceremony

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to do in Wilmington on Friday, June 14, 2024:

  • The Wilmington Department of Veterans’ Services will hold its an annual Flag Retirement Ceremony at 5pm on the Fishing Pier at Silver Lake. Residents are invited to attend this Flag Day event.
  • IronClad Martial Arts (335 Main Street) is holding a free Women’s Self Defense Class from 6:30pm to 8pm. Learn more HERE.

  • The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding the following activities: Zumba (9am); Sewing (9:30am); Chair Yoga (12:30pm); Poker (1pm); and Cornhole (2pm). Learn more HERE.

  • TEXTILES WANTED: The Wilmington Educational Foundation has partnered with Baystate Textiles to raise funds through an ongoing textile recycling rebate program. Bag up any of your unwanted footwear, clothing, accessories, linens and stuffed animals and place them in the donation boxes located outside each of Wilmington’s public schools. Donations can be in any condition as long as they’re clean and dry. The Wilmington Educational Foundation will receive a rebate of $100 for every ton of textiles collected.  WEF earns thousands of dollars each year from this fundraiser.

  • REMINDER: The Massachusetts State Police will be holding a Sobriety Checkpoint in Middlesex County on Thursday, June 13, 2024 into Friday, June 14, 2024.
