WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Department of Elderly Services continues to serve its Home Delivered Meals Program. This program provides the homebound elders of Wilmington with one hot meal five days a week for the minimal cost of $2.00 per meal.
Elders not only rely on these meals but also the daily contact. The drivers are responsible to return to the Senior Center after their deliveries to give an update on the elders they visit. The elders and their families are assured that if there should be a problem during the time of the delivery, the elder will be assisted and the families will be notified.
How to Apply:
- Fill out the Home Delivered meal’s application
- Submit a doctor’s note stating that senior can receive a regular meal (no diet restrictions)
- Note must be on letterhead or on physician’s prescription paper
- Fax to Buzzell Senior Center and available to start delivery next day
- Cost: $2.00 per meal
****When Wilmington Public Schools are closed for inclement weather, have a delayed opening or a Holiday – there will be NO meals delivered on that particular day*****
