TEWKSBURY, MA — Registration is now open for Outbreak!2024, a summer public health program for high school students. Running July 22, 2024 to July 26, 2024, the program offers a combination of virtual and in-person programming.
“We are excited to be able to welcome students from across the country in this engaging and interactive way,” said Kathy Hursen, program organizer.
Students interested in public health careers will interact with public health professionals and explore topics such as Climate and Health, Emergency Response, Job Safety and Occupational Health, Outbreak Management, as well as participate in case studies.
The schedule offers a variety of workshops including live Q&A with public health professionals, virtual tours, breakout rooms, and incredible networking opportunities. Students who live outside the region will be live-streamed into in-person events.
In addition, students will work with alumni peer mentors who have gone on to pursue college and careers in public health.
“The role of public health in our world has never been more important,” said Dr. Kathie Domoto, board member of the Public Health Museum, “and we can’t wait to welcome the next generation of public health professionals”.
