WILMINGTON, MA — Marcia L. Olson, age 65, of Bellingham, formerly of Wilmington and Pompano Beach, FL, passed away suddenly on March 28th, 2024.
Marcia was born in Winchester on October 29th, 1958, and raised in Wilmington, attending Wilmington Public Schools class of 1976 before attending Salem State College. Marcia remained in Wilmington where she raised her son John. She was very involved in the Wilmington Kiwanis Club. She enjoyed spending time with the other club members and making many friends at different events.
Marcia and her fiancé Robert eventually left Wilmington for Pompano Beach, FL where they lived for the past 12 years. She loved spending time on the beach or hanging with her many friends in the condo complex where they would play cards, Mahjong, bingo or just hang out by the pool. She and Robert returned to Massachusetts in 2023 after becoming a full time caregiver to Robert to be closer to their family and especially her granddaughter Elizabeth. She loved being around Elizabeth and the two were best of friends, constantly spending time together.
Marcia was the beloved mother of John Bayrouty & his wife Rebecca of Milford. She was the loving “Nana” of Travis Berg and Elizabeth Bayrouty of Milford. Fiancée of Robert Martin formerly of Wilmington. Marcia was the daughter of the late Rita “Jean” Devlin & her late husband Vincent and the late Irving Olson. Dear sister of David & Patty Olson of Merrimack, NH, Nancy & Thomas Yentile of Wilmington, Paul & Colleen Olson of Milton and Stephen & Jean Olson of Plymouth. Marcia is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends were invited to gather for visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, on Saturday, April 6th, from 10:30-12:00, immediately followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marcia’s name can be made to Camp Sunshine, 35 Acadia Rd., Casco, ME 04015.
