Wilmington’s Andy Winther & His Dogs Place At The Top In American Kennel Club’s Agility Rankings

WILMINGTON, MA — Andy Winther, a Wilmington resident, has placed at the top in the nation of the American Kennel Club National Agility Competition in Georgia.

Andy won Round 1 out of almost 400 dogs in the 20” height group category with his 3.5 year old border collie “Zoom-Zoom” with a time of 23.811.

After Round 3 he was seeded 2nd. Going into the final. Andy and Zoom-Zoom finished 3rd overall in the US in the 20inch Finals, garnering national acclaim.

Andy also ran 7-year old Border Collie, “Extra”, who is “Zoom-Zoom’s” uncle, Extra’s only mistake in the first 3 rounds, was a knocked bar, keeping him out of the Final.

Andy and “Zoom-Zoom” are headed to the Westminster Kennel Club Agility Finals in May along with other national competitions throughout the US. He will also be attending World Team Tryout in April in St. Luis Missouri.
