Register for our Solar Eclipse Viewing Party on April 8, 2024 at 3pm! Enjoy solar eclipse activities and snacks for all ages and get a great view of the eclipse! Glasses will be available, while supplies last.

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, April 1, 6pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in. This group now meets every Monday in the cozy seating area on the first floor of the library.

Learn to Cross Stitch
Monday, April 1, 6:30pm
Curious about needlework crafts but not sure where to get started? Come join Lisa Crispin, Head of Circulation, to learn the basics and get started on this buzzworthy bee project! Materials provided.

Spring Jewelry Sale
Friday, April 5, 5pm & Saturday, April 6, 9am
Join us for the Friends of the WML annual Spring Jewelry Sale – Friday, April 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Items include new and gently-worn fine jewelry pieces and men’s, women’s and children’s fashion jewelry, all starting at just $1. At prices so low, you can find that one-of-a-kind piece, new bling to dress up an old outfit, and gifts to give.

Poetry Contest Begins
Monday, April 1, All Day
Read, Renew, Haiku! The 2024 Wilmington Memorial Library Poetry Contest is happening now! All ages can submit a poem, written with the theme Conservation, Earth, or Nature in mind, now through Tuesday, April 30. Please read through our contest rules and information before submitting. Contestants can submit online or print a submission form and bring their poem to the library. If you’re having any trouble, please email us at kids@wilmlibrary.org.
A panel of judges will select winners in the following categories: Adult, High School, Middle School, and Elementary School Grades Kindergarten through 5th. Winners and honorable mentions will be invited to a Poetry Party on Wednesday, May 15 at 6pm, but all are welcome to attend. Winners will receive a book of poetry from the Friends of the Library and honorable mentions will receive a coupon for the Book Store Next Door. All ages

Lil’ Bookworms

A book club for students in Kindergarten through Grade 2. Children will enjoy a variety of books while practicing reading and comprehension skills. Each session will end with time to socialize during a craft or activity! This month’s theme is Springtime & Nature. Grades K-2

Teen & Adult Solar Eclipse Embroidery
Tuesday, April 2, 6pm
Teens, bring your adults and adults, bring your teens to this fun crafting program! Learn basic embroidery and stitch a simple solar eclipse. No experience is required, but those with embroidery experience are welcome! Teens and adults

Time for Twos

Bilingual Story Hour

The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Practice using your home language with us! Our staff will be here with an interpreter speaking Haitian Creole. At our playgroup we will work on Early Literacy skills and more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. Ages 0-6 and their caregivers

Girls Who Code
Wednesday, April 3, 6pm
Girls Who Code is an organization that aims to close the gender gap in STEM fields by teaching girls to code. Over the twelve weeks you’ll learn about coding, women in the STEM fields, and work together to code your own project. Grades 3-5

Book Store Next Door – Winter Hours
The Book Store Next Door is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.
