WILMINGTON, MA — Gerald J. Bishop, Jr., fondly known as “Jerry” to his family and friends or as “Tiny” to his beloved sister Theresa, age 32, of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully at the Mass General Hospital in Boston on March 22, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Jerry was born on March 10, 1992, in Winchester, MA; he was the cherished son of Gerald J. and Cynthia J. (Tompkins) Bishop of Wilmington and the loving brother of Theresa Bishop. Jerry is further survived by his grandmothers Joanne Tompkins and Theresa Bishop as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Monday, March 25th from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass to Celebrate Jerry’s life will take place on Tuesday, March 26th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut, MA. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 35 Binney St., Boston, MA 02215 or to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
