Joacine was promptly arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Number, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Possession of Ammunition Without a FID Card, Improper Storage of a Firearm, as well as several motor vehicle offenses.

Chief Joseph Desmond commended the officers involved in the apprehension, stating: “The dedication of our officers to the safety of the people of Wilmington is exemplary. By swiftly acting on this traffic stop and uncovering an illegally possessed firearm, they have ensured that a dangerous weapon is now out of circulation, contributing to the safety and security of our community.”

Joacine was arraigned at Woburn District Court on Monday, March 18.

The Wilmington Police Department remains committed to upholding public safety and will continue to enforce laws aimed at preventing illegal firearms from endangering our residents.
