LIBRARY NEWS: Girls Who Code Classes Run On Wednesday Nights

Below is a list of upcoming events from the Wilmington Memorial Library:

Adult Programs

Bookends Book Group
Monday, March 25, 10am
This book group discusses contemporary books, both fiction and non-fiction, led by Library Associate Rebecca Lowe. Copies of the book are available at the library. March’s featured title is Let Us Descend by Jesmyn Ward.

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, March 25, 6pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in. This group now meets every Monday in the cozy seating area on the first floor of the library.

HYBRID DEI Book Group
Monday, March 25, 6:30pm
This group meets on the 4th Monday of the month. We read the book three chapters at a time to allow us to delve deeper into what we’re reading. The current featured title is Broke In America by Joanne Samuel Goldblum. This meeting will cover chapters 6-8.

Drop-in Tech Help

Chair Yoga Series with the Yoga Loft
Tuesday, March 26, 2:30pm
Join us for a month of Chair Yoga sessions hosted by The Yoga Loft. We will be practicing simple yoga moves, breathing and stretching both seated in the chair and using the chair for a prop. No experience necessary. Wear comfortable clothes and sneakers!

Game On!
Tuesday, March 26, 6pm
Play a number of board games under the guidance of gaming enthusiast Scot Crispin. All are welcome. Ages 12+

Our Bodies Ourselves
Thursday, March 28, 6:30pm
Did you know “Our Bodies Ourselves,” the book generations of women have turned to for information on women’s health and sexuality, was born out of a 1969 female liberation conference in Boston? Join us for a discussion of the history and the work that continues today.

Needleworkers
Friday, March 29, 10am
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie. Drop in.

Wilmington Community Playgroup
Monday, March 25, 10am
Join CTI for a community playgroup where we’ll work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ages 0-6, siblings welcome

STEAM Team
Monday, March 25, 6pm
Learn and have fun at the same time in this engaging STEAM program! This month’s featured project is a Solar Eclipse. Grades K-5

Preschool Storytime
Tuesday, March 26, 10am
Preschool Storytime includes books, rhymes, music and movement for ages 3-6! Ages 3-6

VIRTUAL Essentials for College Planning
Tuesday, March 26, 7pm
This program will introduce parents to key components that are part of managing their student’s educational pathways after high school. Teens and adults

Time for Twos
Wednesday, March 27, 10am
Join us at our Time for Twos! This program includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Age 2

Bilingual Story Hour
Wednesday, March 27, 3pm
The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Practice using your home language with us! Our staff will be here with an interpreter speaking Haitian Creole. At our playgroup we will work on Early Literacy skills and more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. Ages 0-6 and their caregivers

Girls Who Code
Wednesday, March 27, 6pm
Girls Who Code is an organization that aims to close the gender gap in STEM fields by teaching girls to code. Over the twelve weeks you’ll learn about coding, women in the STEM fields, and work together to code your own project. Grades 3-5

Family Craft Night: Planet Painting
Wednesday, March 27, 6pm
Complete a craft together with your family! With the total solar eclipse coming up on April 8th, the library is focusing on all things space! Come create a space painting (or two) and talk about what causes a solar eclipse! All ages

Baby Time
Thursday, March 28, 10am
Baby Time includes books, rhymes, music and movement for children ages 0-23 months! Ages 0-23 months

Read to Stormy
Thursday, March 28, 4pm
Come practice your reading skills with Therapy Dog, Stormy! Sign up for one 15-minute session per family. Grades K-6

Teen D&D
Saturday, March 30, 3pm
Interested in finding out more about this fantasy tabletop role-playing game, or looking for a group to play with? This month’s session will be IN PERSON at the library. You may also participate on Discord, a private server. We use DnDBeyond to track and create our characters. Grades 6-12

Book Store Next Door – Winter Hours
The Book Store Next Door is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.
