WILMINGTON, MA — According to the Wilmington Town Clerk’s Office, there will be NO contested races on the ballot for this year’s Annual Town Election on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
Selectwoman Lil Maselli will run unopposed for her second term. Rob Fasulo, Chair of the Wilmington Republican Town Committee and a Select Board candidate in 2018 and 2019, pulled nomination papers on March 5, 2024, but did not return them before the March 8, 2024 deadline. A similar situation occurred in 2021 when Maselli ran unopposed for her first term after Fasulo chose not to return his papers.
Town Moderator Jonathan Eaton will run unopposed for his second term.
Shawsheen Tech School Committee Chair Charlie Fiore will run unopposed for his second term.
Wilmington School Committee Chair David Ragsdale will run unopposed for his third term.
Newcomer Nicholas Golden will join Ragsdale on the School Committee. Golden will replace longtime School Committee member MJ Byrnes, who is not seeking re-election after 12 years of service.
Candidates still have until Monday, March 26, 2024 to withdraw from the ballot.
The Annual Town Election will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, form 8am to 8pm. In a change, the High School will now serve as one of the town’s polling locations. Precincts 1 & 2 will vote at the Boutwell; Precincts 3 & 4 will vote at the High School; and Precincts 5 & 6 will vote at Town Hall.
The last day to register to vote is Monday, April 17, 2024 by 5pm.
