WILMINGTON, MA — Monteforte Law P.C. is thrilled to announce the continuation of “The Albert Iamelli Sportsmanship Award and Scholarship” for the hardworking seniors of Wilmington High School.
Echoing the values of dedication, teamwork, and excellence, this scholarship is not just about financial aid; it’s a tribute to the enduring spirit of Albert Iamelli, a man whose love for the game and impeccable integrity left an indelible mark on high school sports across New England.
As a revered football referee and baseball umpire, Albert wasn’t just present at the games; he was a part of the very heart and soul of sportsmanship in the community.
Eligibility criteria:
- A current senior at Wilmington High School.
- Must be a player on a Wilmington High School sports team.
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Michael Monteforte Jr. founded recalled, “My grandfather, Albert Iamelli, was a titan in the world of high school sports. His legacy of fairness, respect and sportsmanship is something I’ve always aspired to honor. What better way to do that than supporting the next generation of student-athletes?”
Scholarship details:
Monteforte Law P.C. is proudly funding four scholarships, each worth $500, to student-athletes who not only excel in their sport but also embody the virtues of sportsmanship and academic dedication.
Attorney Monteforte created this scholarship in memory of his grandfather, Albert Iamelli. He created this scholarship in hope of honoring his life and his legacy. Albert was a football referee and baseball umpire for high school sports all over New England. He was the head referee for most football games and was very proud of that designation.
How to apply:
Send an email to Scholarship@montefortelaw.com to request an application. Fill it out, pour your heart into the essay question, and submit it by the deadline on April 10, 2024. The winners, chosen by the all-star team at Monteforte Law P.C., will be announced with much fanfare on April 28, 2024.
