WILMINGTON, MA — The identities of the four finalists in the Wilmington Town Manager Search have been revealed.
Andrew MacLean is currently the Town Administrator for Pepperell. He has served in that position for 5.5 years, since November 2018. Previously, he served as the Assistant Town Administrator and Executive Director of Municipal Services for Maynard (2013-2018) and the Public Safety Business Administrator for the Town of Reading (2006-2013). MacLean received a BA in English and a Masters in Education from UMass Lowell, and a Public Administration Certificate from the Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University.
Clancy Main is currently the Assistant Town Manager of Billerica. He had served in that position for 3 years, since March 2021. Previously, he served as the Director of Administrative Services for Billerica (2017-2021), as well as Executive Assistant to the Town Administrator for Littleton (2016-2017), Chief of Staff to a Boston City Councilor (2014-2016), and a Special Assistant to the Lieutenant Governor (2013-2014). Main received a BA in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from UMass Lowell.
Scott Galvin is the former Mayor of Woburn, where he served a record seven terms, from 2010 to 2023. Prior to becoming mayor, Galvin was a practicing attorney and spent 16 years as a member of the Woburn City Council. He has a BS in Business Management from Providence College and a J.D. from New England School of Law.
Eric Slagle is currently the Town Administrator for Townsend. He has served in that position for 2 years. Previously, he served as the Director of Development Services for the City of Lowell (2012-2022) and the Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Lowell (2005-2012). He has a BA in History and Religion from William & Mary, and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. Slagle served as a volunteer on his community’s Zoning Board of Appeals for 11 years (2007-2018).
The Wilmington Select Board will interview MacLean (6:15pm) and Main (7:30pm) on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, and Galvin (6:15pm) and Slagle (7:30pm) on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Interviews will be open to the public and take place in Room 9 of Wilmington Town Hall. Wilmington Community Television (WCTV) is expected to air the interviews live and record them for on-demand viewing online.
The Wilmington Select Board will then meet on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 6pm in Room 9 of Town Hall with the expectation of selecting the next Town Manager, pending successful contract negotiations. The meeting is open to the public and will be televised live by WCTV.
Jeff Hull, who served Wilmington as Town Manager for 11 years prior to a 25-year stint as Assistant Town Manager, retired on October 31, 2023. He announced his decision on June 22, 2023, approximately 8.5 months ago.
