Town Awards Over $200,000 In Storefront Improvement Grants To Wilmington Businesses Impacted By Covid-19 Pandemic

Below is a press release from the Town of Wilmington:

WILMINGTON, MA – The Town of Wilmington is pleased to announce that $217,926.50 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds have been awarded to 11 Wilmington businesses that were impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The program consisted of two rounds of grant awards, both had a limit of $25,000 per project, with applicants providing a matching dollar amount of 10% of the total project cost. Funds will go to improvements to storefronts including signs, building facades, windows, and other physical improvements.

  • As Good As It Gets Café — 35 Lowell Street — $4,410
  • Aztec Sound and Communications — 374 Main Street — $10,000
  • Cooke’s Skate Supply Inc. — 446 Main Street — $25,000
  • Designs by Don Florist and Gifts — 52 Main Street — $24,750
  • Forrest Auto Repair — 600 Main Street — $25,000
  • Heav’nly Donuts — 579 Main Street — $25,000
  • K&E Engineering LLC — 318 Main Street — $13,365
  • West Real Estate — 386 Main Street — $19,364
  • Wilson Wolfe Real Estate — 402 Main Street — $25,000
  • Supali Properties Plaza — 474 Main Street — $25,000

This grant program carries out a goal identified in the 2021 State-sponsored Local Rapid Recovery Plan, to provide funding for businesses to enhance the physical appearance of the main commercial corridors as an attractive place to do business. Façade improvement work will be completed before the end of this year.
