Library News

The library will be closed on Monday, February 19th in observance of the holiday.

Donate your unused jewelry for our annual spring Jewelry Sale on April 5th and 6th! Donations can include anything like necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, pearls, men’s jewelry, kids jewelry, etc. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library.

Puzzle Race!
Thursday, February 22, 6pm
Assemble your team of four for a chance at puzzle victory! The first team to complete a 500 piece puzzle will take home all the glory (and a prize). Please register all members of your group (up to four people) all together. Whoever registers the group is considered the “Team Contact” and we ask that you add all other team members as guests (click the “add more people” button when registering). If you are interested in participating but don’t have any teammates, email Adult Services Librarian Erin Driscoll at adultservices@wilmlibrary.org to be placed on the Singles Team.

Needleworkers

This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie. Drop in.

VIRTUAL W.E.B. Du Bois and Massachusetts
Friday, February 23, 1pm
Did you know that the co-founder of the NAACP, WEB Du Bois grew up in Great Barrington? Join Camesha Scruggs PhD, professor of history at Central Connecticut State University, as she gives great insight into the great man.

Exploration Station

Come enjoy this hands-on science exploration with fun fine motor skills activities! This month’s theme is “hearts” and crafts! Ages 2-5

Pokemon Party
Tuesday, February 20, 3pm
Pokemon Day is February 27th and the library wants to celebrate with you over school vacation week! Enjoy activities, play Pokemon on the library’s Switch, and meet other Pokemon fans! Grades K-5

Teen Taste Test
Tuesday, February 20, 6pm
Join us during school vacation week for another Teen Taste Test. Put your taste buds to the test as we try different snacks & soda to guess the flavors, rank them, and have fun! Grades 6-12

Music with Dara
Wednesday, February 21, 10:30am
With keyboard, felt board, finger puppets, and engaging visual props, Dara weaves songs (old and new favorites), fingerplays, rhythmic activities/simple instrument playing, and creative movement for a fun-filled musical 30-45 minute program. Lots of clapping, marching, singing, creative expression and FUN! Ages 2-5

Family Craft Night: Pinecone Bird Feeders

Wear your pjs and bring something comfy to sit on for this special morning matinee! Watch Disney’s The Game Plan, enjoy delicious popcorn, and even get some giveaways and participate in a raffle all put on by Beyond Podcast! Movie rated PG. For families

Book Store Next Door – Winter Hours
The Book Store Next Door will be open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. They will be closed on Wednesdays in January and February. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.
