OBITUARY: Helen (Quinton) Rossi, 93

Below is an obituary from Brewitt Funeral Home:

NOTTINGHAM, NH — Helen (Quinton) Rossi of Nottingham, New Hampshire, wife of the late Donald Rossi passed peacefully on January 27, 2024 with her children by her side. Helen was born on July 7, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts. She was 93 years old.

Helen graduated from Howe High School in Billerica, MA in 1948 and met her husband, Donald, while they both worked at Factory Mutual in Boston. They married on April 16, 1951 and were married for over 71 years. They built their first home together on Fairmeadow Road in Wilmington, MA in 1954 where they raised four children.

Above all, Helen loved celebrating when her family gathered for holidays and special occasions. For many years Helen worked at Portex in Wilmington before joining Donald in their family snow plowing and power sweeping business. Her hobbies included bird watching, ceramics, knitting, snowmobiling with her family and co-organizing annual snowmobile trips with her husband to Yellowstone National Park. She loved traveling in their motorhome to parts North and South in the United States and Canada and spending summers at their lake house on Pawtuckaway Lake in Nottingham, NH. Helen and Don built their lake house in 1969 where they eventually retired after selling Wilmington in 1997. During retirement Helen became a snowbird with her husband and bought a home in Florida, commuting back and forth from New Hampshire. Helen became a terrific golfer in her Florida women’s league: she even got her first hole-in-one before Don!

Helen was predeceased by her husband, Donald, her brother, James Quinton, and her parents, Charles and Emma (Vaughn) Quinton. She is survived by her four children; Diane Rossi of Auburn, NH; Brenda Coughlin and husband Kevin of Candia, NH; David Rossi and wife Michelle of Londonderry, NH and Paula Rossi-Clapp and husband Joseph of Plympton, MA. She also leaves behind five grandchildren; Stephanie, Daniel, Zachary, Amanda and Christopher and three great-grandchildren; Garrison, Myles and Madeline.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Helen’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Burial will be in the Southside Cemetery, Nottingham, NH.
