Adult Programs

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, February 5, 6:30pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in. This group now meets every Monday in the cozy seating area on the first floor of the library.

Miso Making Workshop with F-Word Farm
Tuesday, February 6, 6pm
In this class, you will learn what koji is, and the chemistry behind what makes it a wonder in the kitchen. Koji is the key element of miso, soy sauce, and sake. Emily Makrez, owner of F-Word Farm, and educator on all things fermenting, farming, and foraging related, will show you how to make your own miso out of anything (in this case, skins and seeds of winter squash)! You will learn how miso comes to be and the uses for it in the kitchen. Samples of wild new flavors will be provided as well.

Coffeehouse Concert Series: Rodney Mashia
Thursday, February 8, 6:30pm
We’ll be transforming the Stewart Room into a cozy music venue for another Coffeehouse Concert featuring Rodney Mashia! Born in New Orleans and raised in rural Louisiana, Mashia has spent decades using his inspirational music to touch hearts and make folks smile. His soulful interpretations of classic songs have entertained crowds of all kinds.

Needleworkers
Friday, February 9, 10am
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie. Drop in.

20s & 30s: Galentine’s Day Brunch
Saturday, February 10, 10:30am
Join us for a Galentine’s Day brunch full of waffles and love! At this social gathering geared towards readers in their 20s and 30s, we will share our favorite romance genre recommendations and celebrate the strong female protagonists in our lives. Location: Tavern in the Square in Woburn, MA. Please note, just like our 20s & 30s Pints + Pages book group, participants will each pay for their own food and drink.

Wilmington Community Playgroup
Monday, February 5, 10am
The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Join us for our community playgroup where we will work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask us about any resources we can help provide for you and your family. The first playgroup of every month will focus on infants and toddlers. Ages 0-6

Kids’ Book Cafe
Monday, February 5, 6pm
A book tasting for students in Grades 3-5. Sample a variety of books, both fiction and nonfiction, revolving around the same genre or theme. Each session will include either a themed snack or activity! Grades 3-5

Preschool Storytime
Tuesday, February 6, 10am
Join us for our indoor Preschool Storytimes! These sessions include books, rhymes, music and movement. Registration is now for each individual event, not the full six-week session! Each event’s registration will open 2 weeks in advance. Ages 3-6

All Ages Chess Tournament
Wednesday, February 7, 3:30pm
Are you interested in Chess or want to learn more about it? WHS Chess Club is hosting 2 events – one to learn and one to test your skills! On February 7th at 3:30 we will compete for prizes against others! 1st place will be a $20 Dunkin’ gift card and 2nd place will be a $10 card! All ages

Newhouse Wildlife Rescue for Families
Wednesday, February 7, 6pm
Wildlife rescuers are back again from the Newhouse Wildlife Rescue, a licensed wildlife sanctuary in Chelmsford, MA! This time, the program will be geared for a younger crowd, but all are welcome to attend. They will show us behind the scenes work involved in rehabilitating wild animals and offer advice on what you should do if you ever encounter injured or abandoned wildlife. All ages

Book Store Next Door – Winter Hours
The Book Store Next Door will be open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. They will be closed on Wednesdays in January and February. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.
