OBITUARY: Frank G. DePiano, 87

ANDOVER, MA — Frank G. DePiano 87, of Andover, MA and Daytona Beach FL, and loving husband of 61 years to Jeanne M. DePiano (Marshall) died on Saturday January 6, 2024 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Frank was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 14,1936. Son to the late Gabriele and Josephine (Fusco) DePiano. He attended Wilmington High School for 3 years where he was captain of the football and baseball teams. He was named as one of the best athletes in Wilmington, MA history. Junior year he received a scholarship to Dean Academy in Franklin, MA where he played football and baseball. He was also the class treasurer. Upon graduation he attended Penn State University to play football. After sustaining a shoulder injury, he transferred to American International College in Springfield, MA where he graduated with a B.S. degree in business.

Frank was formerly employed at McCormick Spice Company where he received the Outstanding Sales award. He then assumed a Regional Management position with The Pillsbury Company. Frank then became the National Buying Director of Valle’s Steak House before starting his own wholesale seafood company, Northeast Marketing, where three of his four children would join him in business years later.

Frank was a sports enthusiast – a loyal Boston sports fan and passionate golfer as a member of the LPGA golf club in Daytona, Fl. He was an avid reader and investor who enjoyed monitoring the stock market daily. He also enjoyed hunting, cooking, and spending time with family and the family dogs.

Frank is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Marshall) DePiano of Andover, MA and Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, his two sons James G. DePiano and his wife Allison of Vermont and Frank DePiano and his partner Megan Doherty of Shrewsbury and her two daughters, Linda Theriault and her husband Brian of Andover and Nancy DePiano and her husband Mert Kerimoglu of Turkey. Also among his survivors are his three grandchildren, Andrew and Mathew Theriault and Gabriel DePiano. Frank was predeceased by his sister Gaetonella DiGirolamo.

Family and friends were invited to calling hours on Friday, January 26,2024 from 3-7 PM at the Conte Funeral Home 28 Florence Street, Andover, Massachusetts.

A Funeral Mass was offered on Saturday January 27, 2024 at 10:00AM at St. Augustine Church Andover. Burial followed in Spring Grove Cemetery also in Andover.
