Adult Programs
Bookends Book Group
Monday, January 22, 10am
This book group discusses contemporary books, both fiction and non-fiction, led by Library Associate Rebecca Lowe. Copies of the book are available at the library. January’s featured book is Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver.
Hybrid DEI Book Group
Monday, January 22, 6:30pm
This group reads a book three or four chapters at a time to allow us to delve deeper into what we’re reading. The first 2024 book is Broke in America by Colleen Shaddox and Joanne Samuel Goldblum. For this meeting we’ll be discussing the Introduction through Chapter 2 (42 pages). You can attend either in person or via Zoom.
Needleworkers at Night

These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in. This group now meets every Monday in the cozy seating area on the first floor of the library.
VIRTUAL Author Talk: “So Fetch the Making of Mean Girls (And Why We’re Still So Obsessed With It)”

We are celebrating a book birthday! Jennifer’s book, “So Fetch” just came out on Jan 16th and we can’t wait to ask her all of the nitty gritty details of this totally fetch story of one of the most iconic teen comedies of all time, Mean Girls, in which she reveals how it happened, how it defined a generation, “like, invented” meme culture, and why it just won’t go away. The book is filled with exclusive interviews from the director, cast, and crew – Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams & Tina Fey (oh my!).

VIRTUAL “Now Who Shall Judge the Indians”

The “People of the Dawnland” (Abenaki/Wabanaki) of New Hampshire and the Northeast are the first Indigenous peoples in North America to have had contact with Europeans. In this presentation, Anne Jennison examines how European colonization of North America impacted generations of Abenaki/Wabanaki people and highlights the ways in which the Abenaki/Wabanaki peoples have acted as agents of their own change through education, self-advocacy, efforts to revitalize their languages and traditional arts, and by working with archeologists, anthropologists, and scientists to recover and reveal more about their history and traditional knowledge.

The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Join us for our community playgroup where we will work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask us about any resources we can help provide for you and your family. The first playgroup of every month will focus on infants and toddlers. Ages 0-6
Kids’ Book Cafe

Explore playful movement using stories, yoga, breath, mindfulness, music, and songs, fully experienced through the body! This modality helps children and adults release energy through play and aids in self-regulation. A fun way for families to connect with themselves and each other! Ages 3-5
Teen D&D

Interested in finding out more about this fantasy tabletop role-playing game, or looking for a group to play with? This month’s session will be IN PERSON at the library. You may also participate on Discord, a private server. We use DnDBeyond to track and create our characters. Grades 6-12

Book Store Next Door – Winter Hours
The Book Store Next Door will be open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. They will be closed on Wednesdays in January and February. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.
Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!
WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.
WML Virtual Programming
