WILMINGTON, MA — Prepare to be swept away by the talented cast of young performers as they bring to life the beloved characters and captivating story from the classic Disney animated film and the original Broadway musical.
“The Little Mermaid Jr.” follows the journey of Ariel, a curious and adventurous mermaid, as she dreams of exploring the human world above the sea. Faced with challenges and supported by a lively cast of friends, Ariel embarks on a heartwarming and entertaining quest. With memorable songs, vibrant costumes, and captivating set designs, this production promises to delight audiences of all ages.
Don’t miss the opportunity to witness the incredible talent of our cast composed of 64 students from grades 6-8 (one of the largest casts in WMS Drama history), with the integral support of 23 middle school crew members, 12 high school crew supervisors, and seven enthusiastic production team members. Under the direction of Samantha Prindiville, the students have dedicated countless hours to rehearsing and perfecting their roles, promising an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
In addition to favorites like “Part of Your World” and the unforgettable “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” you’ll also experience several toe-tapping dance numbers including “Under the Sea,” “Les Poisson,” “She’s in Love,” and a delightful number from Scuttle and his seagull buddies called “Human Stuff.”
The performances will take place in the Joanne M. Benton Auditorium at Wilmington High School, 159 Church Street, Wilmington MA.
Thursday, January 18th at 6:30pm
Friday, January 19th at 6:30pm
Saturday, January 20th at 3:00pm*
* The Saturday matinee will be followed by a character meet and greet with the cast!
With intermission, the run time is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.
Tickets for the performances can be purchased in advance at wpsk12.ludus.com or at the door on the day of the show. ($15 general admission, $10 students and senior citizens, free for WPS staff with ID)
