RICHFIELD SPRINGS, NY – Eileen May Lyon, age 96, of Center Street, passed away peacefully on Friday December 29, 2023 in the Cooperstown Center, Cooperstown.
She was born on February 17, 1927 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Stanley F. and Dorothy G. Hamilton Racki. She was raised and educated in Melrose, Massachusetts. For many years she worked as a lab technician for Charles River Breeding Company in Wilmington, Massachusetts. In March of 2023 she moved to Richfield Springs, New York.
She enjoyed being with her family and friends.
Surviving her are three sons; Daniel Lyon and his wife Brigitte of North Andover, MA, Michael Lyon and his wife Patricia of Richfield Springs, NY, Sheldon Lyon and his wife Marie of Chelmsford, MA, seven grandchildren; Kimberly, Rachel, Gregory, Amanda, Shawn, Savannah, and Anna, four great-grandchildren; Evelyn Rose, Penelope, Maeve, Israel, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sons; Todd Lyon and James Lyon, a brother Richard Racki, a sister Marion Howard and her grandson Stuart Lyon.
A funeral service for Mrs. Lyon will be private and at the convenience of her family.
Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs.
