OBITUARY: Dennis John Audette, 70

Below is an obituary submitted by the family:

Dennis Audette passed peacefully at home on January 2, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Dennis was born in Bridgeport CT, the son of the late Bernice and Roland Audette Sr. The family moved to Tewksbury Massachusetts in 1956, and he grew up on Tanglewood Ave. where there were many, many kids who were lifelong friends. He attended the Tewksbury school system and graduated in 1971.

As a teen he worked for Trott Tree and Carciofi Masonry. Dennis worked for Polaroid Corp. from 1973 until 2001. Following his tenure at Polaroid, he worked for Bradley Landscaping, John Paul Construction, and Scott 5 Masonry (his brother’s business).

He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Brennan), sons, James and his wife Tara, and Michael and his wife Brooke. Dennis was the best Grampy to Camden, Quinn, Michael and Bode. His love for them was the reason he moved from Tewksbury to Florida in 2018. They were the absolute center of his universe. Dennis never missed a moment to celebrate his grandkids, whether it was a baseball game of his grandsons, or a cheer competition of his granddaughter, he was there.

He is survived by his brothers Ron and wife Lisa of North Port, FL, Scott and his wife Karen of Wilmington, MA, sisters Pat and her husband Glen of Watertown, NY, and Alicia and her partner Arlie of Wauchula, FL. Also, sisters-in-law Mary Alpert, Paula Dolan and her husband Michael, Jean Brennan and her husband Barry, Pat Toye and her husband Bill, Fran Brennan and her husband Greg, Aggie Brennan, and Julie Abrahamson and her husband Bob. Also many nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed having come to Tanglewood Ave. to swim and party. He is predeceased by his sister, Tracy. He was blessed with so many true friends who made sure to call and support him through his illness.

The family is planning a celebration of life to take place this summer of 2024 in his hometown of Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

Please do not send flowers as the family has allergies, but if you would like to make a donation in Dennis’ memory, please send it to Crossroads Club, 1700 Lake Ida Rd., Delray Beach FL 33445 (thecrossroadsclub.com).
