Adult Programs:

BB King – From Indianola to Icon
Monday, January 8, 6:30pm
Join Charlie Sawyer, author of BB King: From Indianola to icon, as he talks about the King of the Blues. Some of his photos of BB and other blues artists will be on display in the Stewart Room and he’ll talk about them, too.

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, January 8, 6:30pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! Drop-in. This group now meets every Monday in the cozy seating area on the first floor of the library.

Cookin’ the Books
Tuesday, January 9, 12pm
If you love to cook and enjoy talking about food and sharing recipes then this group is for you. Pick up a copy of the cookbook (or find a recipe from the book online), register on the library events calendar and record your recipe. Bring your dish to the meeting and enjoy sampling everyone’s dishes! January’s featured cookbook is The Global Pantry Cookbook by Ann Taylor Pittman and Scott Mowbray.

Preparing and Completing the 2024-2025 FAFSA
Tuesday, January 9, 6pm
Prepare to complete the 2024 FAFSA with Tom O’Hare, Instructor at Pivotal College Years. The 2024 FAFSA will be available to fill out by December 31st, 2023. The workshop is offered for parents of high school sophomores, juniors, and all considering how to reach their educational goals. The more you know, the better prepared you’ll be.

The 5 Keys to Creating a Simplified Life

In this interactive workshop we’ll explore the many ways clutter impacts all aspects of our lives (there are so many more than you think), discuss 5 simple steps you can take now to start your simplifying journey and consider an action plan to make it a reality. Craft and Chat

Enjoy making a craft while socializing with others! This craft group meets the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm. All craft supplies provided. January’s featured craft is a Snowflake Vase.

Coffeehouse Concert Series: Kat & Brad
Thursday, January 11, 6:30pm
Come in from the cold for our first Coffeehouse Concert of the New Year! We will be transforming the Stewart Room into a cozy music venue. Drawing from 50s and 60s pop, American Songbook standards, Brad Bensko on vocals and guitar and Kathleen Parks on vocals and five string fiddle bring you a mixture of original songs and dusted off covers from the past.

Needleworkers
Friday, January 12, 10am
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie. Drop in.

Wilmington Community Playgroup

The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Join us for our community playgroup where we will work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask us about any resources we can help provide for you and your family. The first playgroup of every month will focus on infants and toddlers. Ages 0-6, siblings welcome

Preschool Storytime

Music with Dara
Friday, January 12, 10:30am
With keyboard, felt board, finger puppets, and engaging visual props, Dara weaves songs (old and new favorites), fingerplays, rhythmic activities/simple instrument playing, and creative movement for a fun-filled musical 30-45 minute program. Lots of clapping, marching, singing, creative expression and FUN! Ages 2-5

Book Store Next Door – Winter Hours
The Book Store Next Door will be open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. They will be closed on Wednesdays in January and February. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

Museum Passes
The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.

CraftAndChat

Register for library Craft and Chat sessions! Craft and Chat meets the second Monday of the month at 6:30pm. Each meeting has a featured craft, and all supplies are provided.
