Wilmington Police Officer Involved In Motor Vehicle Crash

Below is a press release from the Wilmington Police Department:

WILMINGTON, MA — On December 19, 2023, at approximately 8:53 am, a Wilmington Police Officer was involved in a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Main Street and Clark Street, while responding to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The police vehicle had its lights and sirens activated at the time.

The officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to Lahey Clinic. The officer was released from the hospital later that day. The other involved driver was uninjured.

The crash is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police at the request of the Wilmington Police Department.

The pedestrian that was struck in the initial call for service was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
