OBITUARY: Kenneth Earl Baechel, 82

Kenneth Earl Baechel, 82, passed away on November 23, 2023, in Wilmington, MA. He was born on September 30, 1941. Kenneth was a loving husband for more than 50 years to Ann Forrester Cook Baechel who predeceased him. He was a devoted father to his daughter Tara Baechel, son Corey Baechel, and son Heath Baechel. He was also a cherished grandfather to his granddaughter Mikayla Baechel. Kenneth is survived by his sister Constance Warthan.

Kenneth served in the Army as a Green Beret and had a distinguished military career. Prior to his service, he pursued a career in acting and appeared in notable television shows such as “Green Acres” and “12 O’clock High.” He was also a visionary and made a significant impact on his community. Kenneth founded the Community Alert Network, which established emergency phone notifications in the 1980s and 1990s for chemical spills, missing people, and other public emergencies.

In addition to his military service and career, Kenneth held a deep commitment to his faith. He served as a Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church for more than 45 years, including more than 20 years at St. Gabriel’s Church of Rotterdam, New York.

Outside of his professional and religious endeavors, Kenneth enjoyed boating, yard work, and spending quality time with his family. He had a passion for the outdoors and cherished moments shared with loved ones.
