OBITUARY: Bryan M. Davey, 66

Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — Bryan M. Davey, age 66, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 28, 2023.

Bryan graduated from Wilmington High School, class of 1974, where he played football and baseball. He went on to start a family and raise his four children in Wilmington with his wife Karen while enjoying a career driving his favorite big brown truck for UPS delivering packages.

Growing up Bryan enjoyed pick up hockey games out at the pits, working at Ristuccia Memorial Arena in the early 90’s, riding snowmobiles and causing trouble with all the neighborhood kids on Fairmeadow Road in Wilmington. He always looked forward to the old Fairmeadow Road reunions to catch up with lifelong friends.

He was always helpful to his parents and to anyone who needed a helping hand, especially with their tech gadgets. Later in life, Bryan was known to his kids as the most hard working, helpful, and generous man they have ever met. He was always doing some kind of home improvement project around the house, driving his kids to sports games or cooking for the family. He was the kind of guy that would take the shirt off his back to help anybody out and will not be the same without him. He had such a big heart and will be greatly missed.

Bryan was the beloved husband of Karen E. (Evans) Davey, devoted father of Jimmy Davey of Medford, Jenna Davey, Bryan Davey, and Jason Davey all of Wilmington. Cherished son of the late James “Jim” and Terri (Fortin) Davey, dear brother of Susan Harrison and her husband Don of Wilmington, Chris Davey and his wife Sandra of North Andover, Peter Davey and his wife Elaine of Groveland, Paul Davey of Dunstable, Joanne LaLiberte and her husband Mark of Cary, NC. Bryan was the son-in-law of Mary and the late James Evans of Wilmington, brother-in-law of Cheryl and David Surrette of Woburn and James Evans of Andover. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Monday, December 4th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, at 10:00 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00-4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bryan’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Organization, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or online at https://www.dav.org.
