Wilmington Police Department Selling Commemorative Patches This November To Support Veteran Causes

Below is an announcement from the Wilmington Police Department:

WILMINGTON, MA — As we enter the month of November, a time to pay tribute to our nation’s heroes, the Wilmington Police Department is proud to announce our special initiative to honor our veterans.

Chief Desmond has authorized the creation of a commemorative patch that our officers will be wearing throughout this month in honor of U.S. Veterans. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the WPD employees who are veterans and to veterans everywhere for their dedicated service.

PATCHES AVAILABLE FOR SALE

We are excited to offer these special patches to the general public for $10 each. All proceeds will go to the Ahern Family Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting veterans and current members of our military. Patches can be purchased at the front desk of the police station.

But that’s not all! Chief Desmond has also waived the facial hair policy for the remainder of the year for officers who make a donation to the Ahern Family Charitable Foundation. Bring on the beards!

In addition, officers who are veterans will have the privilege of wearing new commemorative badges this month as a symbol of our gratitude for their selfless sacrifices in service to our nation.

We’re thrilled to embrace this opportunity to celebrate our veterans and support a wonderful cause. Thank you for joining us in this meaningful endeavor.

Let’s come together to honor and support our veterans this November!
