WILMINGTON, MA — On Saturday, October 21, 2023, the Town of Wilmington dedicated a walking trail at Hathaway Acres in honor of John “Jack” Maguire, a Wilmington resident and 34-year Woburn Police Officer who was fatally shot on duty in December 2010.
Maguire was a resident of Hathaway Acres, and walked the trail frequently.
Voters at the 2022 Annual Town Meeting approved the monument. The effort was spearheaded by resident Joseph Cigna. Many residents contributed to the memorial by supporting a successful GoFundMe campaign.
