Below is information from the Wilmington Community Fund:
WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Community Fund (WCF) annually coordinates the efforts and generosities of community groups and individuals to provide festive holidays for many Wilmington families.
The program works by anonymously pairing Wilmington children in need with donors. Donors can choose to fully sponsor a child with a commitment of $150-200, or make a smaller monetary donation to the WCF’s general fund. Donors who sponsor a child can also choose to shop for their child with a provided wish list, or can let WCF’s dedicated team of elves handle the running around.
Sponsorship can be on an individual or group/organization level. Many sponsors have joined with family members, co-workers or friends and sponsored a child together. Whether in memory of a loved one, in lieu of an office gift-exchange, or simply “just because”, your help is truly appreciated!
The program begins in the fall and generally wraps up a few weeks before Christmas. On average, the Community Fund assists over 60 Wilmington children annually through the holiday program.
