NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Richard S. Galante, 69, of North Andover, passed away on October 11, 2023, at the Lawrence General Hospital. Richard was born on January 1, 1954, in Winchester MA, to Edmund and Cynthia (Porter) Galante.
Richard was owner of New England Muffler and Brake in Wilmington for 50 years. Not only was the ‘shop’ a place of business, but a place where friends gathered. Richard loved spending time with his friends and his family. His heart was so kind, he wore a smile everyday and was always looking to lend a hand. Richard was a devoted husband and spent many years caring for his beloved wife Maureen. He loved boating on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Richard is survived by his loving daughter Alexandra Galante and his two beautiful grandchildren, Autumn and Jack. Also, amongst his survivors are his siblings. Richard’s brothers Edmund Galante of Ocean City, Maryland and David Galante and his wife Sharon Galante of Tewksbury. Richard’s sisters Cynthia Eriksen and husband Ronald Eriksen of Haverhill, Cheryl Vafiades and husband Vincent Vafiades of Harwich, and Kimberly Carciero and her husband Edward Carciero of Haverhill. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews that he loved greatly. Richard was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Maureen Galante.
Family and friends gathered for calling hours on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 10am-12pm at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St. North Andover MA 01845. A Funeral Service took place at the Funeral Home immediately following the calling hours at 12pm.
