Below is an obituary from Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home:
WILMINGTON, MA — PAULA J. (DELANEY) MURRAY, a longtime resident of Wilmington, died peacefully, after a brief illness, October 25th, with her family by her side, at the age of fifty-seven. She was the beloved wife and best friend for 28 years to Philip A. Murray.
Born and raised in Waltham, Paula was the youngest of ten children born to the late Leo and Estelle “Tilly” (Frechette) Delaney. She was a graduate of Waltham High School and received her associate degree from Aquinas College in Newton.
From the very beginning, it was clear that Paula was destined to be a mother. Her son was her world, and she would do anything for him. She was a mother and wife first, and a devoted daughter and sister second. She was a proud and dedicated St. Charles parent and volunteer, and most importantly a selfless giver weaved through all of these. She more recently worked for the Visiting Angels, caring for the elderly.
Despite her playful nature and warm demeanor, Paula was very private, often keeping her personal life hidden from view. However, her heart was an open book when it came to her family. She spoke of her son and his achievements with immense pride and love.
Paula enjoyed the beach and spending time with her family on their boat. She enjoyed visiting Martha’s Vineyard Chappaquiddick Island, and Hampton beach, where she bathed in the sun on the beach. Paula was very proud of her Irish Heritage. St Patrick’s Day was her “High Holiday” and she never missed the chance to celebrate. Throughout their home she has leprechauns and shamrocks strategically placed reminding everyone of her Irish passion. The vacation to Ireland with her husband was a true highlight in her life.
Paula leaves a legacy of love, devotion and strength and will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Devoted mother of Philip Leo Murray of Wilmington.
