WILMINGTON, MA — Through the efforts of library patron Bonnie Cahalane, Wilmington residents can drop off items, which will make Christmas a little brighter for struggling families, in the marked collection box at the Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue), from October 16, 2023 through November 2, 2023.
The efforts will support Metro World Child, which annually collects items to place in Christmas stockings to 25,000 low-income children in New York City.
Requested stockings-stuffers include:
- travel-size toiletries
- school and art supplies (no scissors please)
- candy (without nuts), including leftover Halloween candy
- gloves/mittens
- socks
- winter hats
- hair accessories
- small to medium toys (but nothing associated with warfare)
- fun packages of Band-Aids
- tissues
- toothbrushes and toothpaste
- small games and puzzles
The donation box is located on the library’s first floor, across from the Circulation Desk.
