Below is a press release from Cradles to Crayons:
WILMINGTON, MA — Cradles to Crayons is continuously working on providing free clothing items to children and families experiencing poverty, and your community can help.
This time of year, many people begin to transition closets and drawers for the change of seasons. They are sure to find items that don’t fit or that are just no longer being worn. A statewide ban on the disposal of textiles, including clothes and shoes, may have families wondering what to do with those items they are no longer able to use.
Cradles to Crayons has a solution. There is a new location in Wilmington at Eaves Wilmington, 1 Avalon Drive, Wilmington, MA 01887. (formerly known as Avalon Oaks)
More than 30 drop box locations, spread across the state, await your donations of gently used children’s clothing and shoes. Find your closest location HERE.
Cradles to Crayons drop boxes, located in dozens of Massachusetts communities provide a convenient option to donate items in good condition, which can be recycled and reused by a family in need. Each donation bin in the community provides Cradles to Crayons with hundreds of bags of clothing each year. These donations ensure shelves are stocked in The Giving Factory® so Cradles to Crayons can meet the needs of children across the state.
Check out this video of what happens to donations when they come to us, and how they get distributed free of charge to children in need in Massachusetts.
