WILMINGTON, MA — Eunice C. (Buckwell) Case, age 90, a long-time resident of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2023.
Eunice was born on August 28, 1933, in Lynn, MA; she was the dear daughter of the late Arthur and Lillian (Walther) Buckwell. Eunice was raised and educated in Saugus, MA, and a graduate of Saugus High School where she excelled in business classes and was an avid typist.
Eunice married “her sweetheart” Edgar Case; the couple lived in Everett for several years before moving to Derry, NH, and finally settling in Wilmington, MA, in 1964, where they raised their son Ed.
Eunice was a very devoted wife and mother who would do anything for her family. They all shared many wonderful times together before Edgar’s passing in 1990.
Eunice was a hard worker throughout her life; for many years she was a secretary and typist for John T. Berry Rehabilitation Center in North Reading and then for the Department of Disabilities in Lowell.
Eunice loved to cook and was an amazing baker. She was a talented cake decorator and created many gorgeous wedding cakes throughout her life for family and friends.
Eunice was a woman of great faith and an active member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church for many years.
Later in life, Eunice went to work for Minuteman Press and that is where she met Robert Ford. The couple became great friends, they had a lot in common and both had lost their spouses. Eunice and Bob enjoyed each other’s company, they married, shared many great times together and enjoyed traveling to different places and meeting new people.
Eunice was a lovely lady who would help anyone in need. She adored her family and will forever live on in their hearts.
Eunice was the devoted mother of Edgar Case and his wife Julie of Shirley, MA. She was the grandmother of Darren Case and his wife Lauren, and Eric Case and his significant other Allyson, great-grandmother of Sophi, Lucy, and Autumn. She was the sister of Nancy Gibb of Florida, Stephen Buckwell of Hamilton, MA, and the late Laura Herald.
Family and friends will gather for a Graveside Service at the Wildwood Cemetery, 233 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, on Thursday, September 28th at 12:00 noon.
In lieu of donations in Eunice’s memory may be made to the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 87 Church St., Wilmington, MA 01887.
