TOWN HALL PROJECT: Construction To Begin In March; Discussion Over Impact On 2024 Fun On The Fourth To Take Place Soon

WILMINGTON, MA — At the most recent Wilmington Select Board meeting, Town Manager Jeff Hull provided a brief update on the timeline of the Town Hall/School Administration Building project.

“An award letter with the construction manager at risk (CM at Risk) was issued to Consigli Construction of Boston in April of this year. Consigili will serve as the general contractor for this project,” wrote Hull in a memo to the Board.

Consigili is completing an interim cost estimate to confirm that project costs remain within budget.

Project architect Johnson Roberts is developing the final design and specifications and will be reviewing the same with P3, the Owners Project Manager, Consigili and the Town in the coming weeks.

Bidding for the project will take place in December 2023 and January 2024, with construction expected to begin in March 2024.

Hull noted discussion will take place next month to plan for the construction area/work zone and to determine the ability to accommodate Fun on the Fourth in 2024 and the activities of other community groups that typically occur on the Swain Green and municipal parking lot.
