Malden Catholic Introduces Dean of Community, Culture & Equity and Boys Division Leader

MALDEN, MA – Malden Catholic is pleased to announce that Mr. Robert Gregory and Ms. Erga Pierrette have joined the Administrative Team.

Boys Division Leader

Malden Catholic is pleased to announce that Mr. Robert Gregory will be Malden Catholic’s new Boys Division Leader. Mr. Gregory earned both a Master of Education, Educational Leadership and Policy and a Master of Theological Studies, Historical/Systematic Theology degrees from Boston College, and he holds a BA from Georgetown University. At Boston College, he was a member of the inaugural Roche Center Catholic Leaders Cohort from 2020-2022. For the past ten years he has served at Malden Catholic in multiple roles including AP Capstone, AP U.S. Government, and Theology teacher, Theology Department Chair, Formation coordinator, Student Retention Committee coordinator, teacher-coach of the State Champion Mock Trial team, football coach, Advisory Program coordinator, Student Council moderator and as the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Mr. Gregory is also currently enrolled in the Lynch Leadership Academy for Catholic school leaders at Boston College which is designed to work with instructional administrators in defining a vision of excellence in instruction, leading teams, coaching teachers and choosing curricula.

In addition, the school is delighted to welcome Ms. Erga Pierrette P’21, ’23, ’27 to Malden Catholic as our new Dean of Community, Culture and Equity (CCE). Ms. Pierrette will serve as Chair of the CCE Committee and work to develop and implement programming that supports MC’s equity-centered community efforts and facilitate the student voice around topics such as diversity, equity and inclusion. Along with Mr. Gregory, Ms. Pierrette will participate in the Lynch Leadership Academy in the fall.

Ms. Pierrette holds a Master of Social Work degree from Simmons College and a Bachelor of Social Work from Salem State College. Her community engagement includes the following: Co-Founder/Convener Malden Community Organizing for Racial Equity (MaldenCORE), Co-Chairperson Malden Cultural Council, ABCD Advisory Board member, Mystic River Watershed Association Advisory Board member, Malden Reads Steering Committee member, Mystic Valley Area Branch of NAACP Executive Board member, Chair of Environmental Justice Committee, Education Committee member, Reparations Committee member, Friends of the Malden River Steering Committee, Revere Public School District Equity Team, RMA School Equity Coordinator, Malden People’s Budget Team member and Co-founder of Malden Juneteenth Planning Committee. Pierrette most recently has worked as a school adjustment counselor for Rumney Marsh Academy, Salemwood School and Beebe School. In her early career she was also an ongoing social worker with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. In addition, Erga is the proud mother of two Malden Catholic graduates, Giahnny ’21 and Ejahry ’23, and her daughter, Giuliannah, will be a member of the Class of 2027.
