NORTH READING, MA — Barrasso, Stefano M. “Stef” of Reading, after a long illness passed away on July 29th. Beloved son of Franca (Cardeti) Barrasso- Morgan and her late husband Anthony Barrasso of Reading. Brother of Daniel “Dewey’ Barrasso of CA and cherished fiancée of Sheila Connors of Reading. Stefano is also survived by several loving cousins and extended family.
Stefano was born in Somerville, raised in Reading along with his brother Danny and attended Reading Schools where he was known for his quick wit, his smile and his large group of friends. “Stef” as everyone knew him was a great friend to so many of his childhood friends and those relationships lasted through his teen years hanging around in the old Marshalls parking lot and in his adult life getting together with them at Kitty’s for a beer after work and always remembering to bring home take out for Sheila. He was extremely close to his extended family, aunts and uncles in particular and relied on them after his father passed when Stef was in his mid-teens. Stefano worked many years in the paving, towing, delivery and construction business as a driver for several local companies, most recently as a concrete mixer driver for Benevento in Wilmington. When you were around Stef you knew what a special guy he was. All that knew him, loved him and cherished his friendship will miss him forever. Rest easy my friend “cuz”, you and Andy behave.
Stef’s funeral will be held from the Cota Family Funeral Home, 335 Park St. (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28), NORTH READING at Reading line on Monday Aug. 7th at 9:30am with a funeral mass in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading at 10:30am. Interment will be privately held. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, Aug, 6th from 2-6 pm in the funeral home. Please omit flower and make donations in Stefano’s name to the MSPCA-Angel, Attn: Donations, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.
