LETTER: Seth Moulton Is A Leader In Working To Ban Assault Rifles & High-Capacity Magazines

Dear Editor,

When watching the news and hearing tragedies such as the Uvalde shooting, we experience sympathy and sadness for these victims. We feel bad for them and pray for their families. However, what we don’t think about is how often these shootings happen. Gun violence is everywhere, and it will not stop claiming lives until all assault rifles are banned. In 2021, nearly 50,000 people died due to gun-related injuries. Most of these deaths could have been prevented if access to such deadly weapons were limited. There is simply no need for people to own assault rifles. Congressman Seth Moulton is a leader in working to ban assault rifles and high-capacity magazines, as well as implementing strict background checks before the sale of any firearm. In order to save lives, this country needs stricter gun control. Without it, more students’ lives, like my own, will be at risk.
