OBITUARY: Steven J. Snyder, 63

WILMINGTON, MA — Steven J. Snyder, “Steve”, age 63, of Lawrence, formerly of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2023.

Steve was born on October 19, 1959, in Woburn, MA; he was the dear son of the late Vance Snyder and Roberta (Shea) Kimpland.  Steve was raised and educated in Wilmington where he made many life-long friends; Steve graduated Wilmington High School with the Class of 1978.

Steve was a hard worker throughout his life; for many years he worked as an offset printer and in his later years owned and operated his own Canteen Truck, “S&S Canteen Express.

Throughout his life, Steve, enjoyed camping, canoeing, hiking, heading to the beach, or visits to Cathedral Ledge in North Conway, NH.  Steve loved the outdoors, the peacefulness, and all the beauty nature had to offer.  Steve also enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, working out at the gym, and heading to NASCAR with his buddies.

Steve is survived by his daughters Samantha and Shannon Snyder and their mom Brenda Snyder all of Pembroke, MA, his sisters Brenda Cameron Snell and her husband Mark Snell of Salem, NH, Jeanne Campbell and her husband Douglas of Yarmouth, MA, Stacey Schwind of Naples, FL and Karen Allen of Nashua, NH, his loving companion Joy Dillon of Lawrence, MA, he was the Uncle of Colin Cameron, Erin Cameron and her husband Jesse Macauley, Kaitlyn Campbell, Kyle Campbell, Michael Schwind, Kevin Schwind, and Nicholas Schwind.  Steve is also survived by his extended family and friends.

He is pre-deceased by his parents the late Vance Snyder and his late wife Linda and the late Roberta Kimpland and her late husband Roger.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Tuesday, July 18th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  A Service to Celebrate Steve’s life will take place at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m. followed by his interment in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Steve’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
