LIBRARY LINEUP: First-Floor Redesign Is Underway; Family Movie Night On June 28

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a list of FREE upcoming programs for adults, teens and kids at the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Adult Programs

Bookends Book Group
Monday, June 26, 10am
This book group discusses contemporary books, both fiction and non-fiction, led by Library Associate Rebecca Lowe. Copies of the book are available at the library. June’s featured book is Hijab Butch Blues by Lamya H.

HYBRID DEI Discussion Group
Monday, June 26, 7pm
This group meets quarterly and is for anyone who is concerned with Diversity Equity and Inclusion. If you were in one or more of our DEI Book club meetings, you can use this group to hold yourself accountable by sharing what you did with the things you learned in the book. If you weren’t in any of the DEI book club meetings, but are interested in sharing your DEI efforts this group is for you, too. It’s also for anyone who’s interested in getting ideas of things to do. Those who are interested can join in person at the library or virtually through Zoom.

VIRTUAL Fiction Critique Group

Drum to the Beat with Otha Day
Monday, June 26, 6:30pm
Learn and participate in this incredibly informative and interactive program! Learn about drums whose origins are (and inspired by) West African, Middle East, Asia, Indigenous American, and South American. Plus, learn to play songs, rhythms, chants, and activities from many cultures! All ages

Arthurian LARP Adventure with The Story School
Tuesday, June 27, 6pm
Join this live-action, interactive roleplaying game with escape room elements as you try to help King Arthur save the library and the world! The Story School brings the characters and story of King Arthur to life at the Wilmington Library. Players are transformed into modern Knights of the Round: battle with foam swords, solve puzzles, unlock secrets, and explore the library in ways you never have before. Ages 8-15

Enabled Play!

Alex from Enabled Play will demonstrate the incredible device that helps anyone access and control their technology in ways that work for them. Using voice commands, facial expressions, body gestures and more he’ll show you how to control programs, games, and devices. Read to Stormy
Thursday, June 29, 5pm
Come read to Stormy, our new therapy dog who is excited to meet all of our patrons! Sign up for one 15 minute session per family. Siblings and caregivers are welcome. Grades K-6

Exploration Station: Under the Sea
Friday, June 30, 10am
Develop STEAM and early literacy skills through fun, hands-on experiments and activities. This month’s theme is Under the Sea! Ages 2-5

Library Redesign Project Update

The first floor of the library will be closed through the weeks of June 12 and July 10 while the redesign project is being implemented. Books and public computers on the first floor will not be accessible during this time. The second floor will remain open and the following services will be available at this location.

Book Store Next Door

The Book Store Next Door is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

WML In-Person Programming

Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming

The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.
