10 Things To Do In Wilmington On Saturday, June 17, 2023: Library Summer Reading Kickoff, Thank You To Veterans

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to do in Wilmington on Saturday, June 17, 2023:

  • The Wilmington-based iPods for Wounded Veterans will be holding an event for local veterans from 11am to 4pm at the Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks Lodge (777 South Street) in Tewksbury. Veterans will enjoy food, comradery, and a free gift from iPods for Wounded Veterans. Registration required. To register, contact the Wilmington Veterans Department at 978-694-2040.
  • Ace Hardware (262 Main Street, Wilmington Plaza) is holding a Customer Appreciation Day from 11am to 2pm. Meet Red Sox mascot Wally from 1pm to 2pm. Red Sox tickets, a Weber grill, and Benjamin Moore paint will be raffled off. Code 1 BBQ will be served.
  • The Wilmington United Methodist Church (87 Church Street) is holding a Curbside Pickup Barbeque at 5pm. Enjoy this feast of a meal featuring BBQ chicken, corn, coleslaw, potato salad, and dessert for a suggestion donation of $15 per person, and $65 for five people. The dinner will be prepared in the church’s license kitchen, by a ServeSafe certified crew, following current COVID-19 virus safety guidelines. Registration is required and closed on June 14. All proceeds will support the church’s operating budget.
  • The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding its Summer Reading Kickoff with Comedy Juggler Bryson Lang at 11am. Due to the inclement weather, the program will be held in the library’s Stewart Room, NOT on the Swain Green. Registration is now closed. Learn more HERE.
  • The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding its Adult Summer Reading Book Brunch at 10am in the Stewart Room. Help kickoff the adult summer reading program by enjoying a light breakfast with others and listening to book recommendations presented by Library Trustee and host of Book Stew Eileen MacDougall.   • The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding a virtual meeting of its Poetry Circle from 9:15am to 11:30am on ZOOM. Learn more & register HERE.
  • Town Beach at Silver Lake is open from 10am to 6pm. Wilmington residents with proof of residency may use the beach at no charge. Acceptable forms of ID include a current Mass. Driver’s License with a Wilmington address, an RMV  issued Mass. ID with a Wilmington addressor a Wilmington Public Schools ID. Non-residents can purchase day passes at the Beach for $10 per person (ages 3 and up).
  • The Wilmington Fourth of July Headquarters (142 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to noon for merchandise sales, meal tickets, event registration and printed schedules.
  • The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. 100% of all proceeds support the Wilmington Memorial Library. Learn more HERE.
  • Pacific Grove (211 Lowell Street) hosts karaoke from Winnell Entertainment on Saturdays beginning at 8pm.
