WILMINGTON POLICE LOG for February 17, 2023: Wilmington Man Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting Police Officers

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Friday, February 17, 2023:
  • A driver reported a white Mercedes with an erratic operator driving towards Lowell on a flat tire. Tire then came off in the middle of the road on Main Street. Driver pulled off to side of road near Firestone. Driver fled. Keolis and MBTA were notified. K9 tracking was unsuccessful. Vehicle towed. (1:20am)
  • An employee at Citizens Bank reported a male party attempted to cash fraudulent check. Describe a dark skinned male, possibly Hispanic, in his 50’s and 60’s. Male left and got into a white SUV. Employee reported male had a New York drivers license. (3:46pm)
  • William F. Peneau (51, Wilmington) was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Resting Arrest, Assault & Battery on a Police Office (x4), and Assault With A Dangerous Weapon (x2). Male party was reportedly acting belligerent at Rocco’s Restaurant and threatened to punch owner in the face. Police responded. Taser deployed. Fire Department transported man to hospital. (9:25pm)
