Below is an announcement from Wilmington Public Schools:
WILMINGTON, MA — For the past thirteen years, the Merrimack Valley Superintendents Association has recognized two (2) students from each of their member schools nominated by the superintendent who have demonstrated excellence in their accomplishments both in the classroom and their community. It is our pleasure to announce that this year’s WPS recipients are Tayla McDonald and Joseph Dynan, both seniors at Wilmington High School.
Tayloa has achieved excellence in the classroom completing a rigorous course load of honors and Advanced Placement classes. Tayla is also heavily involved in competitive dance where she not only competes, but also has been active in teaching younger dancers in the community. Tayla plans to pursue her passion for dance at the collegiate level while also completing her studies in the medical field focusing on neuroscience at Boston University.
Joseph has pursued academic opportunities in numerous honors, and Advanced Placement courses and plans to pursue his studies in the area of biomedicine, biochemistry, and engineering at Rutgers University. Joseph is extensively involved in a wide variety of extracurricular pursuits, including music, community service, and his pursuit of a passion for baseball. Joe can often be found volunteering somewhere in town, including at the local churches or with the Junior WOW organization.
