POLICE LOG for May 17: Cookes Skate Supply Catches On Fire; Vehicle Strikes Dog; Unknown Man Walks Into Home

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Tuesday, May 17, 2022:
  • Police and Fire responded to a structure fire at Cookes Skate Supply on Main Street. Fire was knocked down. No injuries reported. State Police and State Fire Marshall’s Office on scene. National Grid and RMLD notified. Police reopened street. (12:14am)
  • A caller stated train bells have been going off for the past 5-10 minutes on Middlesex Avenue. Keolis notified and stated they had someone working on the tracks. (1:05am)
  • A vehicle struck a dog on Shawsheen Avenue. Dog ran off. Owner’s daughter brought dog to Mass Vet in Woburn. Driver returned to the scene, distraught, and spoke with owner. Animal Control Officer notified. (8:35am)
  • A Fairmeadow Drive resident reported an unknown party, possibly from the nearby group home, walked into their house. Police responded and spoke with homeowners, group home staff, and group home member. (2:53pm)
